The 67 year old megastar posted a blog stating “Ten years ago in the year 2000, when the entire world was celebrating the new century, I was celebrating my disastrous fortune.”
He wrote further, “There were no films, no money, no company, a million legal cases against and the tax authorities had put notice of recovery on my home.”
It was an offer from Kaun Banega Crorepati that changed his life drastically. He was in a financial crisis.
His company ABCL was running at a loss. To compensate this loss he signed “Mrityudata” in 1997 but this film failed miserably at the box office.
It was 3 years later that he was given an offer to host Kaun Banega Crorepati and after that there was no looking back in his life.
