Yes, as was previously reported, last night was Aniston’s guest role on Cox’s comedy “Cougar Town,” in which she played a sage-bearing therapist. While some critics seemed pleased that she still had comedic timing on the small-screen, THR reports that the ratings weren't exactly astounding, with 8.3 million tuning in, a drop from last year's season opener that pulled in 11.4 million.
Yet the night wasn’t all bad for ABC, because right before “Cougar Town” aired the network had a ratings win with “Modern Family.” The series garnered 12.6 million viewers, setting a record for the series.
But among the new shows, J.J. Abrams’ “Undercovers” didn’t overwhelm last night with 8.5 million watching and a low rating in the key demographic of 18-49, while CBS' "The Defenders" opened strong with 12.1 million viewers.
Did you catch any of these shows? What's your verdict?
